(New Orleans, LA) Downtown Development Group (DDG), headed by New Orleans developer Joshua Bruno, has begun construction on a 45-unit, $1.75 million apartment community—Riverview Apartments—at 1039 Third Street in South
Kenner in the Rivertown Neighborhood. DDG is redeveloping four buildings on the two-acre site that formerly housed an assisted-living facility and hospital into a middle- to upper-middle income gated community.
Phase One, the first 26 units along with office and laundry facilities, will be completed by mid-January. The final 19 apartments in Phase Two are scheduled for completion by mid-February. Unit sizes start at 600 square feet and will rent for $730 a month. Luxury 1,200 square foot units, with larger windows overlooking the Mississippi River and the Louis Armstrong Airport, will rent for approximately $1,600 per month.
Riverview Apartments will feature $100,000 of lush landscaping, two courtyards, gated parking, horseshoe and tetherball courts, closed circuit TV security surveillance and free high-speed Internet access both inside units and outside. The units will be constructed of hurricane resistant materials.
“Riverview Apartments, the first of several multi-family communities I have planned for South Kenner, has the advantages of great location in a high demand area, high ground and modern lifestyle in a suburban setting.” states Bruno.
Bruno is also developing Century Park, a $20.2 million Class A office and retail center in Slidell, adjacent to the planned UNO Technology Center along the I-10 Technology corridor.
